Handling
To avoid damaging your device, accessories or any connected devices, and to reduce the risk of personal injury, discomfort, property damage or other potential hazards, follow the precautions below.
Handle your Pixel Buds with care. You may damage the earbuds, the charging case, or the battery if you disassemble, drop, bend, burn, crush or puncture your earbuds or the case. Make sure that the charging case is well ventilated when in use or charging. Using a damaged earbud or charging case, damaged cables, or charging when moisture or debris is present may cause overheating, fire, electric shock, injury or damage to property. Do not use Pixel Buds or the charging case if damaged. Using damaged Pixel Buds or charging case may cause battery overheating or injury. Don't expose the earbuds or charging case to liquids, which can cause a short circuit and overheating. Do not charge the Pixel Buds in direct sunlight or when the earbuds or the charging case is wet. If your device gets wet, do not attempt to dry it using an external heat source.
Pixel buds are designed to work in ambient temperatures between 32° to 95° F (0° and 35° C), and should be stored between ambient temperatures of -4° and 113° F (-20° and 45° C). Do not leave the device in places where the temperature may exceed 113° F (45° C), such as on a car dashboard or near a heating vent, as this may damage the product, overheat the battery, or pose a potential risk of fire.

Repair & Service
Don't attempt to repair Pixel Buds or the charging case yourself. Disassembling the device will result in loss of any water resistance and may cause injury or damage to your device. For example, the earbuds contain a laser that can be damaged during disassembly which might expose you to hazardous laser emissions which are not visible.
Charging
Be sure the charging case is well ventilated when in use or charging. Using damaged ear buds or charging case, or damaged cables or charging when moisture is present, can cause fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the product or other property. Using damaged charging accessories may also cause damage to the device. When charging the device using a power adapter, make sure the power adapter is plugged into a nearby socket and is easily accessible. Avoid charging the device in direct sunlight. This device is intended for use with a certified Limited Power Source (LPS) per IEC 60950-1 or classified PS1 per IEC 62368-1.
Only charge your Pixel Buds with the included charging case and cable, or compatible charging accessories. Failure to use compatible charging accessories can cause fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the device and the accessories. Compatible charging accessories are available on the Google Store and at Google authorized resellers (look for Google's "made for" badge ).
Wireless Charging
You can wirelessly charge your Pixel Buds (2nd Gen) and Pixel Buds Pro charging case using a Qi-certified charger (sold separately by other retailers).
Qi-certified chargers have passed the safety standards tests for wireless charging set by Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). Examples of a Qi-certified charger: Pixel Stand, Belkin, and Mophie charging mats.
To know if your non-Google wireless charger is Qi Certified, look for the Qi logo. You can also refer to the user manual that came with your charger.
Important:
- Only Pixel Buds (2nd Gen) and Pixel Buds Pro charging cases can be charged wirelessly.
- Use only a Qi-certified wireless charger.
- Failure to use compatible charging accessories can cause fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the device and the accessories.
- Do not place other metallic or magnetic objects between the wireless charger and your Pixel Buds Pro Case, as this could cause heating of the other object or cause your device not to charge properly. Examples of such objects include coins, jewelry, SIM tray tools and credit cards.
Prolonged Heat Exposure
Pixel Buds and the charging case generate heat during normal operation and comply with applicable surface temperature standards and limits. Do not sleep on or with your devices, or cover them with a blanket or pillow while the device and its case are charging or plugged into a power source. Be aware of this issue if you have a physical condition that affects your ability to detect heat against your skin.
Hearing Loss
Prolonged exposure to loud sounds (including music) can cause hearing loss. To prevent possible hearing damage, avoid listening at high volume for prolonged periods of time. Continued exposure to high volumes and background noise can make loud sounds seem quieter than they actually are. Check the volume before using headphones or earphones.
Battery
Pixel Buds contain lithium-ion batteries which are sensitive components that can cause injury if damaged. Do not attempt to remove the battery. For contact information, visit g.co/pixelbuds/contact. Replacement by non-qualified professionals can damage your Pixel Buds. Use of a non-qualified battery and improper transport, shipping, or disposal may present a risk of fire, explosion, leakage, and/or other hazards. Do not immerse or expose the device or its battery to water or other liquids, or open, crush, heat the battery above 45° C (113° F), or incinerate the battery. Transport and discard your device, battery, and any accessories according to applicable environmental and transportation regulations. Do not improperly transport them or dispose of them in normal household waste. For more information on recycling your device, visit g.co/pixelbuds/recycle.
Explosive Atmospheres
Do not charge, use, store, or transport your Pixel Buds or the charging case where flammables or explosives are stored (in gas stations, fuel depots, or chemical plants, for example). Do not use your Pixel Buds where blasting operations are in progress, or in potentially explosive atmospheres such as in areas where the air contains high levels of flammable chemicals, vapors, or particles (such as grain, dust, or metal powders). Sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death. Observe all notices and signs where these hazards might exist.
Distraction
Using your device when performing certain activities can distract you, prevent you from hearing sounds around you, and may cause a dangerous situation for you or others. To reduce the risk of accidents (and because it's prohibited by law in many places), do not use your device while driving, bicycling or while engaging in any activities that have potentially serious consequences. Follow local laws about using headphones or earphones.
Radio Frequency Interference
Observe rules that prohibit the use of wireless technology (e.g. Bluetooth® or WiFi). Your device is designed to comply with regulations governing radio frequency emissions but use of wireless devices can negatively affect other electronic equipment. For example, while flying in an aircraft use your wireless device only according to instructions provided by the airline. Use of a wireless device in an aircraft may disrupt wireless networks, present a hazard to aircraft operation, or be illegal.
Medical Device Interference
Pixel Buds and the charging case use radios and other components that emit electromagnetic fields, and also contain magnets. These electromagnetic fields and magnets may interfere with pacemakers and other implanted medical devices. Always keep the earbuds and the charging case at a safe distance away from the pacemaker or other implanted medical device. If you have questions about using your Google device with or near your pacemaker or other implanted medical device, consult your healthcare provider before using your Google device. If you suspect your Google device is interfering with your pacemaker or other implanted medical devices, turn off your Google device and consult your physician for information specific to your medical device.
Hospitals
Turn off your wireless devices when requested to do so in hospitals, clinics or health care facilities. These requests are designed to prevent possible interference with sensitive medical Equipment.
Child Safety
This device is not a toy. Your Pixel Buds come with cables, small parts and plastic elements that may cause an injury or create a choking hazard. Children have strangled on cords and cables. Keep the charging cable out of the reach of children (more than 3 feet / 1 meter away) and do not allow children to play with the device and its accessories. They could hurt themselves or others, or could accidentally damage the device. Consult a physician immediately if small parts are swallowed.
Skin Irritation
Some people may experience reactions to materials found in wearable items that are in extended contact with the skin. This can be due to allergies, the presence of skin irritants (like soap or sweat), or other causes. Keep your Pixel Buds clean and dry. Remove the earbuds and consult a physician if you experience skin irritation.
