Publish from Google Web Designer to Studio

This feature is unavailable for AMPHTML ads.

If you have a Studio account and your Google Web Designer document's ad environment is set to Display & Video 360, there are two ways that you can publish your creatives:

  1. Publish locally in Google Web Designer, then upload the .zip file to Studio.
  2. Publish your creatives directly to Studio. Click the arrow on the Publish button  in the view bar at the top of the window, then select Studio. Google Web Designer adds the appropriate Enabler code, and lets you select the account, advertiser, and campaign that you want to publish the ad to

Publish to Studio

Publishing to Studio for the first time?

You'll be prompted to sign in to your Google Account and allow Google Web Designer to do the following:

  • View and manage creatives and campaigns for Studio
  • View profiles for rich media dynamic creatives

In the publish dialog:

  1. Check the Summary section to make sure your ad passes all validation checks.
  2. Enter the account name for the ad that you're uploading.
  3. Enter the name of the advertiser. You can choose an existing advertiser, or you can create a new one.
  4. Enter the campaign name for the ad that you're uploading. You can choose an existing campaign, or if you enter a new name you can create a new one.
  5. Select or deselect publishing options:
    • Inline local files - Places all the JavaScript and CSS within the HTML file.
    • Polite Loading - Delays the loading of creative assets until the hosting page finishes its initial load.
    • Groups Unpacking - Unpacks groups so they don't have to be unpacked during runtime when the creative is loaded.
    • Add Border - Lets you add a border and pick a border color for the ad.
  6. Select which CSS prefixes you want to include in the file. By default, all are selected to provide the widest range of browser compatibility.
  7. Click Publish.

Publish a responsive ad to Studio

Studio doesn't support creatives with more than one set of dimensions. When publishing an ad with a responsive layout to Studio, you need to publish a creative for each set of dimensions that creative supports. To do this, you can either:

  • Publish locally, then make a new creative in Studio for each set of dimensions, and upload the same .zip file for each creative.
  • Publish to Studio once for each size you want to support, selecting a different creative size in the publish settings each time.

Stop publishing to your Studio account

Publishing a document to Studio creates an association which allows Google Web Designer to remember your settings and reuse them whenever you publish to Studio. Once the association is in place (indicated by a lock icon in the Publish button menu), publishing to Studio saves a new draft of the same creative.

To remove the association:

  1. Click the down arrow on the Publish button at the top of the window.
  2. In the pop-up menu, click the lock icon next to Studio, then confirm that you want to remove the association.

The next time you publish to Studio, you can publish the document as a new creative.
