Set performance targets in a plan

Set performance targets to designate numerical goals shared by all campaigns in a campaign group. Then, monitor plan performance to see if spend is on target.

You can measure how your campaigns perform for one metric, such as conversions or clicks. You can also add a specific target that you’d like to reach for that metric. For example, if you select conversions, you can set a target for the number of conversions, total spend, or cost per acquisition.

This performance target is for comparison only, and does not change your campaign settings.

Instructions

  1. Start creating a plan.
  2. Explore the forecast and optionally compare performance.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. On the "Plan summary" page, click to expand the Performance targets section.
  5. Click  Target.
  6. Under Target, click the arrow to choose a metric to measure for the campaign group.
    • Think about the goals and bidding you set for these campaigns. It might be helpful to align the metric you select for your group with the metric that your campaigns are optimized to get.
  7. Enter a number or rate.
  8. (Optional) Specify one or more flags. The notification appears only in plan settings. You won't be notified by email.
