Edit a cross-channel remarketing segment

You can edit a Search Ads 360 cross-channel remarketing segment to:

  • Rename the remarketing segment. A remarketing segment's name is updated only in Search Ads 360 or Google Ads. The  equivalent remarketing list in the other platform is not updated. We recommend renaming the list in the other platform to keep the names in sync.
  • Add or remove source labels
  • Open or close membership (Google Ads RLSA only)
  • Change the length of time a cookie is included (membership duration) - applies to display and search engines only
You can't edit the source or destination in remarketing segments. For example, if a list is generated from search ads, you can't change the source of the list to social ads.

Instructions

  1.  Sign in to your Search Ads 360 experience.
  2. Navigate to a sub-manager account.

  3. From the page menu, under “Tools & settings”, click Shared library.
  4. Click Audience manager
  5. On the "Segments" page, click the remarketing segment you want to edit.

  6. Click the three-dot icon  and then click Edit list.

  7. Change the settings (see below for more details).
  8. Click Save.

Cross-channel remarketing segment settings

  • Segment name: The name of the remarketing segment. We recommend prefacing the name with SA360. 
  • Segment members: Your segment will be created from users who have interacted with labeled items. This item is not editable.
  • Labels: Lists all of the labels that have been applied to ads that are used to build the remarketing segment.
    • Select a check box to use the labeled ads to add audience members to a segment.
    • To stop using a label, clear its check box. 
  • Membership duration: Applies to remarketing segments for Google Ads remarketing lists for search ads. Specify the number of days a user’s cookie stays on the list, assuming the user doesn’t click the paid search ad again.

    The maximum value is 540 days. We recommend you set this value to reflect the longest duration that would work (usually somewhere between 30-90 days)

  • Membership status: Applies only to Google Ads remarketing segments for search ads. Open lists continue to add audience members. New audience members aren’t added to closed lists.
  • Description: A description for your segment.
