Automatic start and end dates let you start (and finish) serving your ads at specific times.
- In Google Ads, automatic start and end dates are set at the campaign level, and your start date is set to "today" unless you specify otherwise. If you leave the start date as "today," your campaign will start as soon as your first ads are approved.
- In Microsoft Advertising, automatic start and end dates are set at the ad group level. If you don’t set a start date for your ad groups in Microsoft Advertising, your ads will start running shortly after you create them.
This article explains how to set automatic start and end dates in all supported accounts.
Instructions
How to edit a start date
- Sign in to your Search Ads 360 experience.
- In the page menu on the left, click Campaigns (Google Ads) or Ad groups (Microsoft Advertising).
- Click the name of the campaign or ad group you want to edit.
- In the page menu on the left, click Settings.
- Click to expand the Start and end dates section. (You may have to first click Additional settings to reveal this section.)
- Click to expand the Start date drop-down, then select a start date.
- Click Save.
Once you set a start date, you can edit that date at any time until your campaign begins. After the start date has passed it's no longer possible to edit that date. For example, if your start date is February 1, you won't be able to edit your start date on February 2. You can, however, still pause, resume, or remove your campaign.
How to set an end date
- Sign in to your Search Ads 360 experience.
- In the page menu on the left, click Campaigns (Google Ads) or Ad groups (Microsoft Advertising).
- Click the name of the campaign or ad group you want to edit.
- In the page menu on the left, click Settings.
- Click to expand the Start and end dates section. (You may have to first click Additional settings to reveal this section.)
- Click to expand the End date drop-down, then select an end date.
- Click Save.
When you select an end date, your campaign will end on that date at 11:59 p.m. (or 23:59) in the time zone that you have chosen for your account.
