Set a frequency cap in Google Display Network campaigns

This article applies only to Google Ads accounts in the new Search Ads 360.

Frequency capping limits the number of times your Google Display and Video ads appear to the same user. It doesn't apply to the Search Network.

Instructions

How to set a frequency cap

  1. Sign in to your Search Ads 360 experience.
  2. Navigate to a Google Ads account
  3. From the page menu on the left, click Campaigns
  4. Click the name of the display campaign that you’d like to add a frequency cap to.
  5. Select Settings in the page menu.
  6. Click Additional settings.
  7. Select Frequency capping.
  8. Select an option: Let Google Ads optimize how often your ads show, or Set a limit.
  9. If you set a limit:
    1. Choose whether to limit impressions for the whole campaign, an ad group, or an ad.
    2. Enter the number of impressions. The value must be a whole number (such as 100, not 100.5).
    3. Select a time interval (per day, per week, or per month).
  10. Click Save.
