Copy and update campaigns

  1. Navigate to an engine account.

Steps for navigating to an engine account
    1. In the left navigation panel, click All accounts.
What if the left navigation pane isn't visible?

    2. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    3. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    4. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser that contains the engine account.

    5. In the "Account" list, click on the engine account.

    6. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the engine account page.

  2. Click the Campaigns tab if it isn't already selected.

  3. Select source campaigns by doing any of the following:

    • Select the checkbox next to each campaign you want to copy.

    • Filter the reporting table so that it contains only the campaigns that you want to copy.

  4. Click the Edit▼ button in the toolbar above the reporting table and select Copy and update campaigns.

  5. From the Copy to list, select the destination engine account.

If you're copying from a Google Ads account, the list includes all engine accounts for the current advertiser.

If you're copying from a Microsoft Advertising, Yahoo! Japan, or Baidu account, you can only choose the same engine account. That is, the source and destination accounts are the same.

  6. If the destination engine account already contains copies of the source campaigns, Search Ads 360 displays a list of settings that you can update in the existing destination campaigns. For each setting, you can choose to update the setting or leave it unchanged in the destination campaign.

Learn more about matching and updating existing items.

  7. Optional. To pause any new campaigns, ad groups, or other items that will be created, select Pause newly created campaigns, ad groups, and other items.

Note the following about this option:

    • Search Ads 360 only pauses the highest-level items it creates. Any child items inherit the paused state.
For example, if you select this option and the copy operation creates a new campaign, Search Ads 360 will pause the campaign. The ad groups and keywords in the campaign will inherit the paused state. When you unpause the campaign, all of the campaign's ad groups and keywords will also be unpaused.
    • Search Ads 360 does not pause items it updates.
For example, if you select this option and Search Ads 360 updates an ad group setting, Search Ads 360 does not pause the ad group.
  8. To apply labels to the source and destination campaigns, click Select labels and select labels.
Search Ads 360 does not copy labels from the source campaign to the destination campaign. Instead, click Select labels and select labels to apply to both source and destination.

  9. Click Save.

Search Ads 360 starts copying and updating campaigns. A Campaign copying... message appears above the reporting table and indicates the status of the copy process.

Next steps:
Click the view details link to review the copy operation and fix errors.
To dismiss the Campaign copying... message, click the X at the end of the message.

Review the copy operation and fix errors

You can review the changes that Search Ads 360 made as a result of a copy or update operation from the Bulk operations page:

  1. Navigate to the advertiser in which you copied campaigns.

Steps for navigating to an advertiser
    1. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    2. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    3. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. Click Bulk operations in the left navigation pane.
    The Bulk operations page appears.

  3. Find a row that contains Copy campaigns… in the Operation column.
Search Ads 360 creates one row each time you copy or update one or more campaigns.

  4. If the Status column contains completed, all campaigns in the copy operation were successfully created or updated.
The Results column indicates the number of items that were created and updated. For example, if you copied 1 new campaign that contained 1 ad group and 1 keyword, the Results column contains Changed: 3 items

To see details about the items that were created and updated, click the Download details link in the Results column. Search Ads 360 downloads a bulksheet to your browser's downloads directory. The bulksheet contains one row for each item that was created or updated. For any items that were created, the bulksheet's Action column contains create.

For any existing items that were updated, the bulksheet's Action column contains edit.

  5. If the Status column contains failed, one or more campaigns in the copy operation were not successfully created or updated.

Note that Search Ads 360 will complete the copy operation for any campaigns that do not encounter errors. For campaigns that do encounter errors, Search Ads 360 generates an error bulksheet for you to review.

To see the items that were not created and updated, click the Download details and error report link in the Results column. The download is a bulksheet that contains one row for each item that was not created or updated. The first column in the bulksheet describes the error. All errors need to be fixed before you can successfully copy or update the campaigns listed in the error bulksheet.
