Create budget plans

Set reporting-only goals in budget management

Set benchmarks in a budget plan

Specify benchmarks for comparison with other goals. The benchmarks are shown in charts on the budget group "Overview" tab. The goals don't impact any estimates.

Add as many benchmarks as you want.

  1. Start creating a budget plan.
  2. On the "Reporting-only goals" page of a budget plan, click Add goal.
  3. Under "Goal", click the arrow Down Arrow to display the list of conversion goals.
  4. Do either of the following:

Use an existing column as a conversion goal

    1. In the "New conversion goal" window, click Select a column.
    2. Under "Column", click the arrow ▼, and then select a column.

The available columns can use any attribution model.

    3. If the column's metric is "Conversions", the performance targets are reported in conversions or CPA (cost per action).
If the column's metric is "Revenue", the performance targets are reported in either ERS (effective revenue share) or ROAS (return on advertising spend).
Search Ads 360 will report on budget performance in the column's metric.

    4. Click Save

Add a new column to use as a conversion goal

    1. In the "New conversion goal" window, click Create a column.
    2. Enter a name for the column.
The name of the column is also the name of the conversion goal.
    3. Select Conversions or Revenue.
    4. If the column's metric is "Conversions", Search Ads 360 will use CPA (cost per action) to report on budget performance.
If the column's metric is "Revenue", choose either ERS (effective revenue share) or ROAS (return on advertising spend).
Search Ads 360 will report on the budget using the column's metric.
    5. Under "Conversion source", click the arrow ▼ to select the type of conversion.
    6. Optional. Select an attribution model and the Cross-environment conversions checkbox.

If Floodlight tags are the source of the conversions, select the Cross-environment conversions checkbox  to attribute credit for the various types customer interactions that lead to conversions.

    7. If available (for example, for Floodlight or Google Analytics conversion sources), select the tags that you want.

    8. Click Save.
  5. Optional. Click Add goal to add another benchmark.
  6. Click Continue.

To return to an earlier step, in the left navigation of the budget plan editor, click the step.
