Certification courses in Skillshop contain course modules and one or more assessments. To earn your certification, you’ll need to pass all assessments.

Note: Not all learning paths in Skillshop result in certifications — look out for “certification” in the course title. (Learn more about earning Skillshop awards and certifications).

This page provides an overview of how to start and successfully complete your chosen certification course in Skillshop.

Before you begin

To find certifications, go to Browse or Topics and look for learning paths under your chosen topic with the keyword “Certification” on their title. For more filtered results, you can use the search bar. (Learn more about how to navigate Skillshop).

Start and go through a course

  1. Click on your chosen certification course.
  2. Scroll down to see modules in the path.
  3. Click Get Started to begin the course modules. If you are redirected to an assessment, go back to the learning path page and click directly into the modules to learn the course material.
Tip: To help you better prepare for the assessment, we recommend completing all optional modules within the learning path.

Some certification courses may allow you to skip modules and proceed directly to the certification assessment if you meet a certain score in the pre-assessment knowledge check.

Pause and continue a course

Your progress for each path is automatically saved and you can pause at any time. Here’s how you can continue a paused course:

  1. Click on your profile icon on the upper right.
  2. Select History from the dropdown. If you are on the Home page, scroll down to the “Continue learning” section which displays your in-progress courses.
  3. Click the course you’d like to continue.

You may see a Resume button if you've already completed modules within your course. If you click Resume, it will bring you back to the last page you viewed on the course. The GIF shows two ways to continue a course: by going to the History page and to the Home page, where you can find the Continue learning section.

Note: All courses have different requirements. Some course modules may be locked unless preceding modules are completed. Look out for sections to mark activities as complete or ensure progress bars at top of the screen show as completed.

Complete a course and earn an award or certification

  1. Under “Pass the assessment and earn a certification,” click on the course assessment.
  2. Complete the assessment by answering all questions.
  3. If you pass, you’ll see a screen congratulating you on passing the assessment.
Note: Most assessments require a passing score of 75-80%, and you have unlimited attempts in retaking them.
