Q: Where can I find the badges for my completed certifications?
A: You should’ve received an email with your new badge and certificate. If you don’t receive or can’t find the email, contact Skillshop Support.
Q: How will I know if I’ve earned a badge?
A: Shortly after passing your certification exam, you’ll get an email with instructions for claiming your digital badge and setting up your account. If you don’t receive or can’t find the email, contact Skillshop Support.
Q: What if I don’t want my badge to be public?
A: By default, your badge visibility is private. To make a badge publicly visible, update the visibility settings in your profile.
Q: How do I request a name change?
A: To update one's Skillshop profile with the correct name, navigate to the Skillshop home page, then select My Profile, then select the Personal Info tab. There, you can update the First Name and Last Name fields. Then, reach out to Skillshop Support to republish your credentials with the updated information.
Q: Is there a fee for Skillshop digital badges?
A: No. Digital badges are part of your Google certification benefits.
Q: How long is a certification valid?
A: Unless it’s stated otherwise in the issued certificate, all Skillshop certifications are valid for one year from the date of certification. To preserve certification status, candidates must seek recertification. You’ll be notified prior to your certification expiration date to give you time to prepare for recertification if you choose to do so.
Q: What happens to my digital badge when my certification expires?
A: Skillshop certifications have a one-year validity period, starting from the date of certification, and you must renew it prior to the expiration date. Once a Skillshop certification expires, the corresponding digital badge will be shown as expired.
Q: Can I retake the same exam if I’m already certified?
A: During the time that you’re currently certified, retaking the same exam is not permitted unless you’re within the recertification eligibility period, which starts 30 days prior to the expiration date of your certification. Attempting to recertify prior to the commencement of the recertification eligibility period may result in one or more of the following:
- Rejection of your exam result
- Denial of a new certificate or badge
- Restriction from taking the exam in question or any other Google exam
- Termination of any applicable business relationship with you, at the sole discretion of Google
