If you can't sign for parcels that require a signature upon delivery, please follow the steps below for FedEx, UPS and UPS Mail Innovations services. Pre-signature is only available for these carriers.
FedExPre-sign for your parcel with FedEx Delivery Manager (FDM).
If you missed the delivery and the driver left a door tag with instructions:
- Sign the door tag.
- Leave the door tag on your door so that FedEx can deliver your package on the next attempt.
Tip: You can request Fedex hold the package at a Fedex location so you can pick it up within 7 calendar days. To do so and to extend the hold period, call FedEx at 1-800-463-3339 or use FedEx Delivery Manager (FDM).
Pre-sign for your package with UPS My Choice.
If you missed the delivery and the driver left a UPS Delivery Notice or InfoNotice, follow the instructions on the notice to get your package.
Tip: You can request UPS to reroute your package to a UPS Access Point location for pick-up for up to seven calendar days. To do so and to extend the hold period, use your UPS My Choice account.
UPS's reattempt process for signature-required parcels
The UPS courier may deliver the parcel to a nearby UPS Access Point location for you to pick up. This only happens if all the following are true:
- The parcel is a signature-required parcel.
- You didn't pre-release the parcel through UPS My Choice.
- The courier has had a failed delivery attempt to your address.

If your operator is UPS Mail Innovations, UPS picks up the parcel and gives it to USPS for the last mile of delivery. Typically, you don’t have to sign for a parcel that UPS Mail Innovations delivers.
