Recycle your devices
Before you recycle your devices, make sure to do a factory reset and clear your data to protect your personal info. Check with your manufacturer for data removal instructions.

Recycle your device by mail
You can request shipping at no additional charge. Our third-party recycling partner will send a postage-paid shipping label to your inbox. To recycle by mail:
- Ask for a shipping label.
- US: Request a shipping label from Reverse Logistics Group (RLG).
- Rest of the world: Request a shipping label from ERI.
- Optional: Check with your manufacturer for data removal instructions.
- Place your device in a sturdy box.
- Attach the label to the box.
- Follow the shipping instructions.
- You can also drop the package off at a collection site near you.
- Send your eligible electronic device for responsible recycling.
Drop off your device at a local recycler
Check for businesses that offer recycling drop-off services with keywords like "electronics recycling near me" in Search or Google Maps.

Packaging & hardware (WEEE) sorting labelsPackage sorting information
To help inform consumers, sorting info is required on packaging in France. Packaging with sorting info must be sorted separately from normal trash and may require separation by packaging type. Packaging should be sorted for recovery per your local recycling authority's guidance.
Required packaging sorting info is provided directly on the product packaging. You may find a label similar to below (some content may vary):
Tip: If “+NOTICE” is present on the label, it refers to documents such as product guides. If documents are no longer needed, they should be recycled as paper.
Electronic device (WEEE) sorting information
Electronic device sorting info is provided in the Safety and Warranty Guide that comes with your electronic device.
You may find a label similar to below (some content may vary):
Sorting information or “information des consommateurs sur la règle de tri” is required in France. This informs consumers that electronic devices, which include associated cables, batteries, and electronic accessories, must be sorted separately from normal trash.
These electronic devices should be sorted for recovery at appropriate collection locations. Collection locations may include the retail location where your device was purchased or other deposit centers for electronics. Learn more about the Google recycling program.
EU WEEE Directive compliance
Google has identified the substances, mixtures, and components that have to be removed from separately collected WEEE associated with Google branded consumer hardware devices. This is according to Annex VII in the EU WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU.
Reuse and recycling facilities shall ensure that these identified substances, mixtures, and components are disposed of or recovered in compliance with Directive 2008/98/EC. These facilities can request info about the identified substances, mixtures, and components that require removal by sending an email to [email protected].
