Add additional security for certain Tag Manager operations.
To add additional security to a Google Tag Manager account, administrators can optionally enable 2-step verification. When this setting is enabled, Tag Manager will check if 2-step verification has been enabled on the users' account before these items can be modified:
- Custom JavaScript variables
- Custom HTML tags
- User settings

To enable 2-Step verification for a Tag Manager account:
- Log in to Google Tag Manager with an administrator account.
- Click Admin.
- In the Account section, click Account Settings.
- Select Require 2-step login verification for certain operations.
- Click Save.
