Use one-click dialing on Google Voice

From a web browser, you can make Google Voice calls faster and with one click on any web page with a phone number link.

Important: One-click dialing only works on computers.

You can use Google Voice to make calls from any of these browsers:

Turn on one-click dialing

  1. On your computer, register for the feature.
  2. When prompted, allow Google Voice to make calls on one of the browsers below:
    • Google Chrome: Click Allow.
    • Microsoft Edge: Click Allow.
    • Mozilla Firefox: Click Add Application.
Tip: If your browser doesn’t prompt you to allow one-click dialing, check if one-click dialing is turned on.
 
 

Check if Google Voice can make calls

You can check if Google Voice has access to make calls from your browser.

Google Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
  3. On the left, click Privacy and security.
  4. Click Site Settings and thenAdditional permissions and then Protocol handlers.

One-click dialing is on if voice.google.com displays under “Tel.”

Microsoft Edge

  1. On your computer, open Microsoft Edge.
  2. At the top right, click More .
  3. On the left, click Cookies and Site Permissions.
  4. Scroll to and click Protocol handlers.

One-click dialing is on if voice.google.com displays under “Handlers for tel links.”

Mozilla Firefox

  1. On your computer, open Mozilla Firefox.
  2. At the top right, click Menu .
  3. Scroll to “Applications.” 
  4. Next to “tel,” click Always ask.

One-click dialing is on if voice.google.com displays under “The following applications can be used to handle tel links.”

Tip: If one-click dialing isn’t on, go to Turn on one-click dialing.
