About private passes

Important: This feature isn't available in India.

Some passes that you can save in Google Wallet contain sensitive info. These passes have extra protection to help keep your sensitive data safe.

You can add the following passes as private to Google Wallet (availability subject to your location):

Important: Google saves your private pass with the info that you've chosen to provide. Google doesn't independently verify this information and can't confirm its completeness, accuracy or efficacy with any provider.

How private passes work

Unlike other passes, such as event tickets or transport passes, private passes:

  • Include a 'private pass' label in the card details to easily help you identify them as a private pass.
  • Require you to verify that it's you to add, view and use them in Google Wallet. You can do this with your fingerprint or PIN, or via other methods.
  • Aren't used to personalise your Wallet experience by default.
  • Aren't shared by default with other Google products like Maps, Assistant and Shopping.
