Manage linked Loyalty programs (Japan only)

To select loyalty providers in Japan, Google Wallet offers a pilot program called linked loyalty program.

Currently, Google supports:

When you link your loyalty account to your Google Account, you can check the points you can earn in your product search results on your mobile device. You can also manage and check your loyalty card on the Google Wallet website.

To link your loyalty account and add a loyalty card, you must:

  • Have a Google Account. Check how to create a Google Account.
  • Have a loyalty account with a supported point program.
    • Tip: This feature is only available for personal accounts, not business accounts.
  • Have a loyalty card.
    • If you don't have a loyalty account or card, follow the instructions from the loyalty website to create one.

Link Loyalty card

When you link your loyalty account to your Google Account, you can manage your loyalty card in the Google Wallet app and on the Google Wallet website. You’ll be eligible to check the points you can earn in your product search results on your mobile device.

To link a loyalty card to your account:

  1. Go to the Google Wallet website.
  2. On the Loyalty cards page, tap Add a loyalty card.
  3. Follow the steps to sign in to your loyalty account.

Unlink Loyalty account

When you unlink your loyalty account, you also remove the loyalty card from the Google Wallet app and the Google Wallet website. You’ll no longer be eligible to check the points you can earn in your product search results on your mobile device.

To unlink your loyalty account:

  1. Sign in to your Google Account.
  2. Go to your Google Account settings.
  3. Next to the account you’d like to remove, tap Unlink.

Tip: Google won’t have access to your loyalty account info once your loyalty account is unlinked in your Google Account. However, the link will still appear on the loyalty website. If you want to completely delete the account, you have to go to the loyalty website to do so.

View Loyalty card

Once you link your loyalty account, you can find your loyalty card in the Google Wallet app. You can also find it on the Google Wallet website.

Important: The loyalty card can only be used to check and manage the points that you can earn in your product search results on your mobile device. It’s an “online only” card and can’t be used offline or in physical stores. It doesn’t have a barcode and card number in Google Wallet.

  1. Go to https://wallet.google.com/wallet/passes.
  2. On the Loyalty cards page, click the loyalty card you want to check.

Add a Loyalty card

When you link your loyalty account, your loyalty card info is automatically added to Google Wallet.

You can re-add your loyalty card in the Google Wallet Website if you removed it without unlinking your loyalty account from the Google Account settings.

To add the loyalty card:
  1. Go to https://wallet.google.com/wallet/passes.
  2. On the Loyalty cards page, click Add a loyalty card.
  3. Follow the steps to add your loyalty card.

Remove a linked Loyalty Card

To remove a linked loyalty card:

  • You can unlink your loyalty account.
  • You can remove the card from the Google Wallet app or Google Wallet website.

If you choose to remove your loyalty card:

  • You won’t be able to check your loyalty card in the Google Wallet app or on the Google Wallet website.
  • You’ll no longer find the points you can earn for the loyalty program on your product search results on Google.
Unlink account
  1. Sign in to your Google Account.
  2. Go to your Google Account settings.
  3. Next to the account you’d like to remove, click Unlink.
Remove card from the Google Wallet website
  1. Go to https://wallet.google.com/wallet/passes.
  2. On the Loyalty cards page, click the loyalty card you want to remove.
  3. Click More and then Remove card.

Tips: If you don’t unlink your loyalty account, Google will still have access to your loyalty info. If you want to remove Google’s access, then follow the instructions to unlink your loyalty account from your Google account. Type of info shared between Google & Loyalty card providers

Google receives data to ensure you have the best possible experiences. To check the specific shared info between Google and its trusted partners:

  1. Go to Google Account settings.
  2. Choose the loyalty card.
  3. Click See details.
Check if loyalty account is linked

Sometimes there’s a delay between when your loyalty account links and when it displays as linked. To confirm that your account is linked, you can check the Google Account settings. If the loyalty program is listed on this page, that means your loyalty account is linked.

Fix errors when linking Loyalty accounts
  1. Ensure that you're signed in to your Google Account.
    • You may need to turn on pop-ups in your browser to link your accounts.
  2. Check the Google Account settings. If the loyalty program is listed on this page, that means your loyalty account is linked.
  3. If you're still experiencing issues, please try again later.

Tip: You can only connect personal accounts, not business accounts. Make sure you’re logged in to a personal account.

Why your Loyalty account is still showing as linked

Sometimes there’s a delay between when your loyalty account unlinks and when it displays as unlinked. To confirm that your account is unlinked, you can check the Google Account settings. If the loyalty program isn’t listed on this page, that means your loyalty account is unlinked.

Once you unlink your account, wait for a few minutes before you refresh your browser. If you're still experiencing issues, please try again later.

Unlinked Loyalty account but Loyalty card is still visible in the Google Wallet app
If you added your loyalty card to Google Wallet before you linked your loyalty account, you’ll keep your loyalty card in Google Wallet.
Why my linked Loyalty card disappeared

If you unlinked or removed your account-linked loyalty card, Google Wallet or the Google Wallet website won’t show your loyalty card.

To add your loyalty card again, you’ll have to unlink and relink your loyalty account. Once you relink your loyalty account, you’ll find your loyalty card.

Currently, you can only add your loyalty card back by re-linking your loyalty account. You need to follow the above steps to unlink and relink your loyalty account.
Linked my Loyalty account but can't find the points in product search results

Important: Google is offering users to check points they can earn in product search results as a pilot program when you search with your mobile device, excluding the shopping tab.

Sometimes there’s a delay between when your loyalty account links and when points are displayed. Meanwhile, points displayed on Google are estimates. Actual points may differ on a merchant's website.

  1. Check the Google Account settings. If the loyalty program isn’t listed on this page, that means your loyalty account isn’t linked. In this case, you need to follow the above steps to link your account.
  2. Check your saved loyalty cards in the Google Wallet app or at https://wallet.google.com/wallet/passes. If the loyalty card isn’t listed, that means your loyalty card isn’t added. In this case, you need to follow the above steps to add back your loyalty card.
  3. Check your Wallet passes data settings.
    • In order to find the points, this setting needs to be on:
      • Use passes across Google
    • For instructions on updating your Wallet settings, check Manage your passes data.
  4. Check your Search Personalization control settings.
    • In order to find the points, these two settings need to be on:
      • Web & App Activity
      • Personal results in Search
    • For instructions on updating your Search settings, check Personalization & Google Search results.
  5. In your search preferences, set the region and language to Japan. You may need to turn off your adblocker.
