Fix connection issues with Google Go
If you can't connect to wifi or have a slow connection, try these fixes:
Check if you have the latest app version
- On your Android phone or tablet, go to the Google Goapp .
- Tap Update. If "Installed" appears, you already have the latest version.
Turn on lite mode
To get search results faster and use less data, you can turn on lite mode.
- Open the Google Go app .
- At the top right, tap Settings .
- Under “Data,” turn on Use lite mode.
Turn on notifications
If you’re having trouble connecting to wifi, turn on notifications to get search results when you are back online.
- Open the Google Go app .
- At the top right, tap Settings .
- Under “Notifications,” turn on Search results are ready and Web page has loaded.
Voice search isn't working
Check your language settings
- Open the Google Go app .
- At the top right, tap Settings .
- Choose the app language you want to use.
Try activating voice search
- Open the Google Go app .
- At the bottom, tap the Microphone .
- Raise your device and slowly speak into it.
- Use short phrases such as “When was the Taj Mahal built?”
Listen mode is too fast or too slow
- Open the Google Go app .
- Search for an article tap the article to open it.
- At the bottom, tap Play.
- Tap Speed to hear the article faster or slower.
