How to use and navigate the YouTube Music App to customize your listening experience
Discover music and podcasts on the Home tab
When you sign in to YouTube Music with your Google Account, you can check out customized stations and recommendations based on your current mood, activity, or listening history. You'll also see recommendations based on music and podcasts you've listened to on YouTube.
To find new recommendations, go to the Home tab . To filter your suggestions, tap a category at the top of your Home screen.
Explore new music and podcasts
The Explore tab lets you find new music and podcasts to expand your library. View popular releases, genres, playlists, podcasts, episodes, and more in your country/region, or browse by category.
Build your library
The Library tab displays your saved songs, playlists, albums, and podcasts. YouTube Music Premium members can also view recently played songs, playlists, and downloaded content.
Search for music and podcasts
The search bar helps you discover new music and podcasts that match your interests. Use the categories at the top of the page to filter your results.
You can also use Sound Search. Sound Search uses your microphone to identify songs, and find matches on YouTube Music.
Build your YouTube Music library with sound search
To start a Sound Search:
- Make sure that your microphone is enabled.
- Sign in to the YouTube Music app .
- Tap in the upper right corner.
- Tap .
- Play, sing, or hum a song.
If a match is found, you can play or save the song to your library. If there isn’t a match, tap to try again.
Stay connected with your favorite artists
Use the Activity Feed in the top-right of the home page to find new releases from artists you follow, friend-curated playlists, and more. You can also view comments and likes on videos, or interact with your subscribers.
Browse artist or channel pages
Check out artist and channel pages to find creator-specific details like subscriber count, top songs, and new releases. You can also find music and podcasts to add to your Library or download content for offline listening.
