The YouTube Partner Program lets creators monetize their content on YouTube. Creators can share revenue from advertisements on their videos, or by using various other monetization features. Use this page to understand how your earnings translate into revenue, how you can get paid, and when you can get paid.
How do I earn revenue?Advertising revenue
There are no guarantees under the YouTube partner agreement about how much or whether you'll be paid. Earnings are generated based on a share of advertising revenue from viewers watching your video. Learn more about how ads show on videos you monetize.
Other monetization features
Revenue share refers to your percentage of gross revenue that is outlined in your specific partner agreements with YouTube. You can review your agreements for specific details about your revenue share:
- Sign in to YouTube Studio
- From the left menu, select Settings
- Select Agreements
- Click View agreement next to each agreement to find details about your revenue share

Revenue share rates
Specific Modules are available in YouTube Studio for partners to optionally select. When reviewing the terms for each Module, partners can learn more details about revenue share rates.
Commerce Product Module
If a partner turns on fan funding features by reviewing and accepting the Commerce Product Module, YouTube will pay them 70% of net revenues from channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and Super Thanks.
Watch Page Monetization Module
If a partner turns on Watch Page Ads by reviewing and accepting the Watch Page Monetization Module, YouTube will pay them 55% of net revenues from ads displayed or streamed on their public videos on their content Watch Page. This revenue share rate also applies when their public videos are streamed within the YouTube Video Player on other websites or applications.
Shorts Monetization Module
If a partner turns on Shorts Feed Ads by reviewing and accepting the Shorts Monetization Module, YouTube will pay them 45% of the revenue allocated to them based on their share of views from the Creator Pool allocation.
YouTube Analytics
You can check your estimated YouTube revenue by using YouTube Analytics.
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- From the left menu, select Analytics.
- From the top menu, select Revenue.

Keep in mind that monthly estimated revenue as appears in YouTube Analytics may fluctuate:
AdSense for YouTube
Your finalized earnings are only visible in your AdSense for YouTube account. Finalized earnings for the previous month are added to your AdSense for YouTube account balance between the 7th and 12th of each month.
You can find your finalized earnings within your AdSense for YouTube account.
- Sign in to your AdSense for YouTube account.
- From the left, select Settings Payments. You'll see your total earnings for the selected timeframe and your last transactions.
Tax withholding may affect your finalized earnings (if any apply), and the amount withheld is only visible in your AdSense for YouTube account.
U.S. tax requirements
Google withholds U.S. taxes on earnings that you generate from viewers in the U.S. If you haven’t already, submit your U.S. tax info in your AdSense for YouTube account so Google can determine your correct withholding rate. If tax info isn’t provided, Google may be required to withhold at the maximum rate.
Submitting U.S. tax info is required for all monetizing creators, regardless of their location in the world. It's also required before new partners with new AdSense for YouTube accounts can get their first payments. Keep in mind that you may be liable to pay taxes to your country or region of residence on any income earned from your monetized videos on YouTube. Check with your local tax authorities for detailed guidance.
