Ads may appear in a few different places on YouTube TV. You can fast forward through some ad types, but not others.
Live TV
You can't fast forward through ads while watching live TV. If you pause a show, you can fast forward through ads until you catch up to the live version of the program.
DVR recordings
You can record a program by adding it to your library. All upcoming airings—including reruns—will be recorded automatically. You can fast forward through ads on recorded programs.
Video on-demand
Many networks provide new episodes of shows, movies, and more on-demand. When you add a program to your library, certain episodes may be available to watch immediately, even if the program has not recently aired live. Video on-demand ads have a yellow progress bar and a small "ad" icon in the corner. You typically cannot fast forward through these ads.
YouTube videos
Within YouTube TV YouTube Premium members don’t receive, ads on YouTube videos. You will see ads on live TV and recorded content in your library. You may also see ads on on-demand TV programs.
Non-YouTube Premium members continue to get ads on YouTube videos. Ad preferences you create on YouTube will be reflected on YouTube TV.
