If you haven't already, sign up and customize your YouTube TV membership.

Step 3. Cast programs to your TV

  1. Make sure your computer is on the same Wi-Fi network as your streaming device.
  2. Go to YouTube TV on a web browser. 
  3. Choose a TV show or video.
  4. Click Cast Inactive cast extension in the video player.
  5. Choose the device you want to cast to.

Step 4. Stop casting 

Tap or click Cast Inactive cast extension and then Disconnect. 

Fix a problem

If you encounter issues with video streaming, try the first troubleshooting tip below and check if it fixes the problem. If not, move to the next step.

Restart your browser and devices

  1. Close and reopen your browser.
  2. Restart your router.
  3. Restart your computer.

Check for updates

  1. Update your browser to the latest version.
  2. Use Chrome for the optimal YouTube TV experience.

Check your connection

  1. Make sure you're connected to the internet. YouTube TV requires a connection of at least 3 Mbps for optimal experience.
  2. Restart your Wi-Fi connection.
  3. Change the video quality to a lower setting. Select Settings Settings in the video player and then Quality.
  4. Close the video player, reopen it, and try to watch the video again.

Turn on Local Network (MacOS 15 and later)

  1. On your Mac computer (MacOS 15 or later), open System Settings.
  2. Select Privacy & Security and then Local Network. You’ll find a list of apps.
  3. Turn on Local Network for the app(s) you’d like to allow access to your network. This will allow permissions for your device to discover Cast-enabled devices.
