Once you start the migration, Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Outlook (GWMMO) begins to import data to your Google Workspace account.
You're on step 5 of 5
What to expect during migration
Contacts are imported first, followed by calendar data, and then email. If you're importing more than one PST file or email account, each file or account imports in sequence. If you're importing from a Microsoft Exchange profile, GWMMO copies the data currently in the profile and imports only the current data. It doesn't import any messages received after the migration begins.
Depending on how much mail and other data you have, it might take several hours for it to import. However, you can begin to work in your Google Workspace account right away.
For details on the type of data migrated, go to What is migrated?
Stop & restart a migration
- Click Pause Migration to temporarily halt the migration.
- Click Resume Migration to continue importing from where you left off.
- If your import is interrupted and you need to run the entire migration again (for example, you accidentally close the wizard or have to shut down your computer), just rerun the wizard. To avoid importing duplicate contacts, select Migrate only new data.
- If the migration is interrupted without closing the wizard (for example, your internet connection is interrupted), the wizard resumes where it left off. If the wizard doesn’t automatically resume, start a new migration. To avoid importing duplicate contacts, select Migrate only new data.
Did everything migrate?
As the migration progresses, you can review a progress screen and see the number of items migrated and the number of items remaining.
To see any errors, next to Migration log file, click the link. To find log files for all your migrations, go to Locations of log files.
Next steps
When your migration finishes, you can click Start new migration to import more data (if you're migrating in stages). Otherwise, click Cancel to close the wizard.
If you haven't already, you can sign in to and start using your Google Workspace account.
