Filters
Use filters to understand your reporting data, find trends, and drill down to the information you really need.
Date filter
The Date filter helps you narrow the range of data that appears in your Campaign page. You can select an explicit date using the calendar, or select a relative date, such as “Today” or “Last 7 days”. A comparison period is included by default, but you can click the Compare toggle to turn it off.
This filter is required and applied to all of your reports by default, but you can edit the filter to change the default settings.
Other filters
- Campaign status: Includes campaigns that match the selected statuses. By default, the campaign table includes all campaign statuses except campaigns that have been removed by you. Learn more about campaign statuses.
- Campaign name: Filter by the campaign name.
- Campaign type: Includes campaigns that match the selected campaign type: House ad or Direct sold.
- Goal type: Filter by campaigns with the selected goal types.
- Placement app store ID: Filter by the app store ID or package name of the placement app. The placement app is the app that shows ads promoting another app. To use this filter, you must also select the Placement dimension.
- Placement name: Filter by the name of the placement. The placement app is the app that shows ads promoting another app. To use this filter, you must also select the Placement dimension.
Dimensions, metrics, and attributes
The sidebar of dimensions, metrics, and attributes is on the right. Click to open or close the sidebar. Then, click the dimensions, metrics, and attributes you want to add or remove from the report. You can also rearrange the order of the columns by dragging the dimensions, metrics, and attributes in the sidebar.
Dimensions
Dimensions determine how your report is organized. For example, if you wanted to view your campaign impressions broken down by countries, you could add the country dimension. Adding new dimensions further reorganizes and refines the data.
The following dimensions are available in your Campaign page:
- Placement: The app that shows ads promoting another app.
- Date: View campaign performance broken down by the selected date range. Select the date range in the date filter.
- Ad: An ad that appears in this campaign. Click the link to view or update the ad.
- Country: View campaign performance broken down by country.
- Ad format: The way ads appear and where they’re located in your app. Learn more about ad formats.
Metrics
Metrics represent the type of data contained in a report. When dimensions are added, metric values are recalculated based on the new order or groupings the dimensions create. The following metrics are available in your Campaign page:
- Impressions: The total number of ads shown to users.
- Clicks: The number of times users click an ad.
- CTR: The number of clicks an ad receives divided by the number of times the ad is shown.
- Installs: The number of times your app was downloaded to a device.
Note: To report installs, you need to set up conversion measurement.
- Estimated cost: The estimated cost of serving a campaign ad instead of an ad that earns revenue.
- Average CPI: The average cost per install. This means the average amount that was spent to acquire a new user for your app.
- Interactions: The main user action associated with an ad format, including clicks and engagements.
Attributes
Attributes are your general campaign details, like start date or status. The following attributes are available in your Campaign page:
- Campaign status: The status of your campaign. Learn more about campaign statuses.
- Campaign start date: The date on which the campaign starts reporting impressions, clicks, and other metrics.
- Campaign end date: The date on which the campaign stops reporting impressions, clicks, and other metrics.
- Lifetime progress: A measure of how your campaigns are progressing toward their goals during the selected date range.
- Campaign type: The type of campaign:
- House ad, which promotes your own apps or websites
- Direct sold, which sells inventory for a particular advertiser
- Ad status: The status of the ads in your campaign. Learn more about ad statuses.
- Ad type: The type of ad shown to app users. You choose the ad type when you create the ad unit. So when an ad unit requests an ad, it only receives ads that match an assigned ad type.
- Placement app store ID: The app store ID or package name of the app that shows ads promoting another app.
Lifetime progress
The Lifetime progress column shows how your campaign is progressing toward its goal. The numbers found on each lifetime progress bar can give more insight into each campaign's progress. The progress is updated every 2 hours.
For the mediated ads goal type, the Lifetime progress column lets you know whether your ads are ordered for mediation using a manual eCPM or optimized for backfill.
Estimated cost
Estimated cost is the estimated revenue you may miss out on by serving a campaign ad instead of an ad that earns revenue. Campaign ads are ads that are from your house ad or direct sold campaigns, while ads that earn revenue are from mediation and bidding.
AdMob campaigns are always free, but serving a campaign ad means you aren’t serving an ad that would have earned revenue. You can also interpret estimated cost as how much revenue is forgone to get conversions through campaign ads.
