In AdMob, you can prevent ads from specific general categories from showing up in your apps using blocking controls. General category blocking is available for ads in a limited set of languages, regardless of the app language.
The maximum number of categories you can block is 200. You might find that some general categories overlap with some sensitive categories. The total percentage of ad impressions shown on the "General categories" page might be greater than or less than 100% as ads may be classified in multiple categories, or not classified in any category at all.
Complete the following steps to block ads by general category:
App-level blocking
- Sign in to your AdMob account at https://admob.google.com.
- Click Apps in the sidebar.
- Select the name of your app. If you can't find it in the list of recent apps, you can click View all apps to search a list of all of the apps you've added to AdMob.
- Click Blocking controls under the name of your app in the sidebar.
- Click Manage General categories.
- Use the controls on the page to allow or block categories. Changes are automatically saved on selection.
Account-level blocking
- Sign in to your AdMob account at https://admob.google.com.
- Click Blocking controls in the sidebar.
- Click Manage General categories.
- Use the controls on the page to allow or block categories. Changes are automatically saved on selection.
- (optional) Click Preview ads to access the Ad review center to review and take action on the ads that may appear in your apps.
