If you've created an HTML5 ad using a different tool, such as Google Web Designer, you can upload it to Ads Creative Studio as a display project.
Requirements
- Your HTML5 ad should be packaged in a single ZIP file.
- Interstitial creatives are not supported.
- Full screen expanding creatives are supported, but creatives that expand to other sizes are not supported.
- All ad clickthroughs must use either the Enabler or click tags. Hard-coded clickthroughs using HTML anchor tags are not supported.
- If using video, load video assets using the Enabler then add code to track video metrics. You can get example code by downloading the example ZIP file below.
About the Enabler
To upload a rich media ad to Ads Creative Studio, you need to use the Enabler in your files. The Enabler is a JavaScript library that serves as a communication hub for your ad. You can use it to load files securely from the ad server when your ad is live. You can also use it to record interactions with your ad so you can know how it performs.
If you're uploading a display ad that doesn't use the Enabler, you should use click tags to define the landing page for each exit.
Upload an HTML5 media bundle
Before you upload your HTML5 files, you'll need to compress all of the files into a single ZIP file. Make sure to include any assets, CSS, or JavaScript files that are loaded by the HTML file.
- Go to Ads Creative Studio.
- On the Projects page, click NewDisplayHTML5.
- Upload the HTML5 media bundle as a ZIP file.
- Enter a name for the new project.
- Select the ad platform where you plan to export the project. If you can't select the platform you want, make sure you've set up an account link, then try again.
- Click Create.
Next steps
- For non-customizable projects, you can add additional sizes if necessary.
- For customizable projects, you can edit the template to add sizes and set swappable elements.
- When you're ready, review your project.
