To enforce the device policies you set in your Google Admin console, you need to enroll your ChromeOS devices. Each device you enroll adheres to the policies you set until you wipe or recover it.
Before you begin
- Before you can start to enroll devices you must accept the Terms of Service (TOS) agreement by doing the following:
-
Sign in to your Google Admin console.
Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).
-
Go to DevicesChrome devices.
- In the TOS pop-up, click I Accept.
-
- If you're setting up devices for a large group, across several office locations or classrooms, you might decide to give the devices to others to enroll. Before you do this, enroll a single device to test that the management policies work correctly.
Enroll your devices
As an administrator, you can enroll devices or allow users to enroll them using the Enrollment permissions policy.
ChromeOS devices bundled with Chrome Enterprise Upgrade or Chrome Education Upgrade automatically prompt users to enroll. If they’re not prompted to enroll, users should press Ctrl+Alt+E.
You’ll need to manually enroll standalone devices that you purchased upgrades for. For instructions on how to enroll a device, see Enroll ChromeOS devices.
Tip: To enroll with Kiosk & Signage Upgrade, devices must be on ChromeOS version 104 or later.
If you run into issues while enrolling the device, you might need to wipe and re-enroll the device.
