What's new: October 2020

Learn about new features and updates to Display & Video 360 from October 2020

Campaign and workflow updates

Display & Video 360 API October update

The Display & Video 360 API now includes support for line item warning messages and click-through rate (CTR) performance goals. See the release notes for more details.

Use match ID to sync your namespace with Google for offline conversion attribution

Match ID (a new tag parameter) is now available for use with Floodlight. Match ID is a unique advertiser created identifier (passed via Floodlight) that can be synced with Google to attribute offline conversions. For more information see custom fields in the global site tag and Match ID for the Campaign Manager 360 API.

Monitor bulk actions across Display & Video 360 with new dedicated page

You can monitor current and past bulk actions by clicking  Bulk status from the top of Display & Video 360. Use this page to review bulk line item edits, entity duplication, and Structured Data File uploads and downloads.

Clearer labels for Settings tabs

You’ll now see clearer labels for the Settings tab in Display & Video 360 that clarify what level of your account the setting applies to. For example, you’ll see "Partner Settings" at the partner level and "Advertiser Settings" at the advertiser level.

Audience updates

Combined audiences available for YouTube ad groups

Combined audiences, which allow you to create custom combinations of audiences and audience attributes, are now available for YouTube & partners ad groups. You can select a combined audience in ad-group level audience targeting. When you’re building a combined audience, the Audience Summary data reflects eligibility for display, video, and YouTube. Creatives updates

Creatives assigned to deals now start in pending status

To prevent discrepancies between Google Ad Manager and Display & Video 360, publisher-hosted creatives assigned to deals can no longer start serving immediately. In the past, these creatives were immediately servable. In some cases, serving could start before the automatically generated tracking creative was ready. Now, these creatives will be pending for up to 2 hours while the tracking creative is processed. When both creatives are ready to serve, the Display & Video 360 status will change to "Servable."

Third-party VAST audio creatives now available in Display & Video 360

You can now add third-party audio creatives in Display & Video 360 using a third-party audio creative format. This format only accepts VAST URLs and can be uploaded manually or in bulk. Learn more

Refreshed look and feel for creatives list and creative assignment

The Creative tab and creative assignment workflow have been redesigned with a more cohesive look and improved features. Along with the new design, the creatives list now has new filters (hosting source and policy) and improved support for screen readers. When you’re assigning creatives to line items, you’ll see automatically applied filters based on the line item type and creative type. This should make it clearer why certain creatives can’t be assigned to certain line items.

3D Swirl creatives now only serve on high bandwidth network traffic

3D Swirl, an immersive display format with an interactive 3D model, now only serves high bandwidth network traffic to ensure the best performance of these ads.

Insights updates

Modeled conversion in attribution models

By default, attribution models now include modeled conversions that are inferred for browsers when there isn't direct conversion tracking information available. Modeled conversions can be enabled or disabled for a given attribution model. Learn more

New insertion order optimization suggestions in the Intelligence Panel

The Intelligence Panel now includes the following new optimization suggestions for insertion orders, including an indication of expected pacing improvements:

  • Enabling automated bid strategies or automatic budget allocation on insertion orders that only have line items that use fixed bidding.
  • Fix budget or pacing misconfigurations to reduce underpacing.

These new suggestions can help improve the pacing and performance of your campaigns without the need for manual optimizations. Learn more
