You can add text, shapes, lines, and other objects to your scenes in Google Vids.
Add text or objects to a scene
To insert texts, shapes or lines to a scene in a video:
- On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
- Select the scene where you want to add a text box or object.
- From the sidebar, select Shape & Line or Text .
- Click the object you want to insert.
To remove texts, shapes or lines to a scene in a video:

On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
- Select the text box or object you want to remove press Delete.
Arrange & align objects in a scene
To arrange objects on a scene’s canvas:
- On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
- Select the scene where you want to arrange an object.
- In the "Menu," click Arrange.
- Choose from these options:
- Order: Put the object behind or in front of text, other objects, or images.
- Align: When you select multiple objects, you can align their edges.
- Distribute: When you select 3 or more objects, you can evenly distribute the space between them.
- Center on page: Center objects vertically or horizontally in a scene.
- Rotate: Change the orientation of an object.
- Group: Lock multiple objects together to make them easier to move around and format.
Resize or rotate an object in a scene
To change the size or rotation of objects on a scene’s canvas:

On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
- Select the scene with the object or text box you want to change.
- Click the object or text box.
- Click on the object click Format options .
- In the format options side panel, click Size & rotation.
Tips:
- To keep the height and width proportions when you resize an object, select Lock aspect ratio.
- In the format options side panel, you can also add customized formatting to text, shapes, and lines.
- Make changes to the object or text box.
