Before you start grading questions, you can see the status of student work.
You can return grades to one or more students at a time. For ungraded questions, you can give personalized feedback.
You can download grades for a single question or for all work in a class.
- Tap Classroom .
- Tap the classClassworkthe question.
On the Student answers page, you see students grouped by work status:- Assigned: Work that students have to turn in, including missing or unsubmitted work
- Turned in: Work that students turned in
- Graded: Graded work you returned
- Returned: Ungraded work you returned
- To see a student's answer, tap the student’s name.
- (Optional) To add a private comment, tap Add private commententer your comment
tap Post . - To return to Student answers, tap Back .
When you enter a grade, it saves as a draft. You can return one grade at a time, or all grades together during another session. When you return grades, students get a notification and can see their grade.
- Tap Classroom .
- Tap the classClassworkthe question.
- (Optional) To change the question's point value, in the top-right corner, tap the Down arrow enter another value or select Ungradedtap Save.
- Tap a student’s name.
- Tap Add gradeenter a grade. The grade saves as a draft.
Note: For decimal grades, Classroom supports 2 digits after the decimal point. If you enter more than 2 digits, the grade is rounded to the nearest 2-digit decimal form. For example, if you enter 88.725, it’s rounded to 88.73.

(Optional) To add a private comment, at the bottom, tap Add private commententer your commenttap Post .
- Choose an option:
- To return the student's grade, tap Return and confirm.
- To return to the Student answers page, tap Back .
- (Optional) To return grades to multiple students, on the Student Answers page, next to each student whose grade you want to return, tap the boxReturn.
- Tap Classroom .
- Tap the classClassworkthe question.
- Tap the name of the student whose grade you want to change.
- Tap the grade and enter a new one.
The grade saves as a draft. You can return it now or later. - Choose an option:
- To return the student's new grade, tap Return and confirm.
- To return to the Student answers page, tap Back .
