Add a grade category to posts

This article is for teachers.

You can use the gradebook to add grade categories to questions, assignments, and quiz assignments.

You can add categories on mobile devices, but you can only create them in the web version of Classroom.

Add a grade category to a post

Before you can add grade categories, you need to create them on the Settings page in the web version of Classroom. For instructions, see Set up grading.

1. Tap Classroom the class.

2. Tap Classwork .

3. Choose an option:
   • To add a grade category to an existing post, next to the assignment, quiz assignment, or question, tap More  Edit.
   • To add a grade category to a new post, create an assignment or question.
4. Tap No categoryselect a category.

5. (Optional) Edit the assigned point value of the grade category.
6. Tap Save or Post .

View grade categories

To see the grade category assigned to the post, go to the assignment detail page.
