Change your Wi-Fi network name with the GFiber App

We regularly update the GFiber App with new features to help make it even easier for you to manage your home or business network. We’ll be making improvements throughout 2025 and beyond, so your GFiber App might look different from the examples below.

You can use the GFiber App to change the name of your Wi-Fi network.

If you have a Google Wifi or Nest Wifi Pro router, you can change your Wi-Fi network name in the Google Home app.

To change your Wi-Fi network name:

  1.  Tap Network.
  2. Tap Network Settings.
  3. Your Wi-Fi network information will be displayed.
  4. Select the Primary network password field and enter a new password. Tap Save.

The SSID is case-sensitive and must be 1 to 32 characters long. If you want, you can create a separate network name for your 5 Ghz network. If the device you're using is connected wirelessly to your GFiber network, you must reconnect using the new network name.
