When uploading Amazon product feeds in Merchant Center, parent-child relationships between products help you create different variants of the product you are selling. During the Amazon feeds beta, Merchant Center will not yet support parent-child relationships, and so you may see related issues in the products diagnostics page of your account.
Instructions
Step 1: See the affected products
- Sign in to your Merchant Center account.
- Select Products on the navigation menu, then click Diagnostics.
- Click the Item issues tab to view current issues affecting your products.
To download a list (.csv) of all affected products for all issues:
- Click the download button next to the filter button , beneath the graph and above the list of issues.
To download a list (.csv) of all affected products for a particular issue:
- Find the issue under the “Issue” column, then click the download button at the end of the row.
To view a list of up to 50 products with this particular issue:
- Find the issue under the “Issue” column, then click View examples in the “Affected items” column.
Step 2: Update the parent-child data in your feed
In order to solve parentage issues you can choose one of the following solution:
- If there are several products affected, update your feed file by copying and pasting the relevant product data from the parent to all children.
You can also make the changes manually to each affected product. However, re-uploading a new Amazon feed file could remove manual updates you have done
Step 3: Re-submit your product data
- If you’ve updated your product data in your feed file, resubmit it by re-uploading the updated feed file.
- Next, check that you’ve fixed the issue by making sure it’s no longer listed on the Diagnostics page.
Keep in mind: It may take some time for your change to be reflected on the Diagnostics page.
