The status that are available for a campaign, ad group, or other item depend on the type of engine account.
Status in search engine accounts
In a search engine account, a campaign, ad group, ad, keyword, or other item can be in one of the following states:
-
Active: The ads in the campaign or ad group will be served on the search engine.
-
Paused: The ads in the item will not serve on the search engine. When you pause a campaign for Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising, only the campaign itself is updated with a status of Paused (or the equivalent status) on the search engine. All of the ad groups, ads, and keywords that are a part of the paused campaign will continue to have their current statuses on the search engine, although they will not actually be active because their campaign is paused. Similarly, when you pause an ad group, its ads and keywords keep their current statuses.
-
Removed: Permanently removes an item from the search engine. Search Ads 360 will also remove every ad group and keyword that belongs to a campaign, or every keyword that belongs to an ad group.
Status in social and engine track accounts
In a social or engine track account, the status in Search Ads 360 does not affect the status in the engine itself. The Search Ads 360 status only determines if an item appears in reports by default:
-
Active: The items appear in Search Ads 360 reports by default.
-
Removed: The items only appear in Search Ads 360 reports if you view removed items. Changing the status to Removed doesn't remove the item from the engine itself, nor does it stop Search Ads 360 from tracking conversions for the item.
