Create a table in a Search Ads 360 Executive Report

View the following steps to learn how to create a table and how to add only the top or bottom performing campaigns, ad groups, ads, and so forth in a table in an Executive Report in Search Ads 360.

  1. Create a report or open an existing report:

    1. From the top navigation bar in Search Ads 360, click Executive Reports.

    2. Click on a report title.

  2. Click Add chart below a page name and select Table chart.

  3. Select a time range in the chart editor.
    For example, select Last quarter.

    Note that relative time ranges, such as Last 7 days, start from the report's end date, which you can adjust as needed.

    You can also compare performance to past performance. The table displays one row with current performance and another with past performance.

  4. If you want the table to display metrics only from specific campaigns, devices, or even keywords of a particular match type, add a filter to the table.

  5. Select a metric and optionally add other metrics. For example, select Impr and add ClicksCost, and ROAS.
    The name of the metrics display on the chart.

    To change the order of table columns, rearrange the metrics by clicking the dots next to a metric name and dragging the metric.
    Click and drag metrics.

  6. Optionally segment the metrics.
    The table will contain one row for each segment. For example, if you segment by engine type, the chart contains one row for each type of engine account in the report scope.

    Tables with segmented data include a Total row that sums each column.

  7. Add a title to the table.

  8. Click Create.

  9. Optionally click and drag the table to a different location on the page.

Show how performance has changed over time

If you compare performance to a past performance in a table, you can show the actual amount or the percentage that the performance changed.
Display change amounts in a table.

To show how performance has changed over time:

  1. While creating or editing a table, select a time range for your table, select Compare to past, and select the past period.

  2. Select at least one metric, and optionally add a segment.

  3. Under Show differences, select one or both of the following check boxes:

    • Show Change: Adds a row below the two time periods and displays the amount that the metric changed since the past period.

    • Show Change (%): Adds a row below the two time periods and displays the percentage that the metric changed since the past period.

Note the following:

  • If the current metric is larger than the metric from the past period, Up arrow. (up arrow) appears in the row. If the metric is smaller, Down arrow. (down arrow) appears.

    If you download the report, the change amount and percentage appears in the download, but the up and down arrows do not.

  • If you select the Show metrics as rows check box, the metrics appear in rows and the change data appears in columns.

Show the summary row

To add a row that sums the values in each column:

  1. While creating or editing a table:

    1. Add at least one segment to the table.
      You can add any type of segmentation except Label.
    2. Do not select the Compare to past check box.
  2. Select the Show Totals check box.

Search Ads 360 will add the Total row to the bottom of the table. You'll see this row when you view reports online and when you download reports.

The Total row displays at the bottom of the table and sums each column.

If you want to slice the data in a table in an executive report to see only the best or worst performing campaigns, ad groups, keywords, and ads, you can create a table that isolates up to 100 rows of data so that you can determine how to replicate the best performance, and improve the worst.

How to view best or worst performers in a table

To view your best and worst performers in a table, segment the data by an item such as campaign, ad group, or keyword, and then select the Sort and limit rows option. In most cases, the sort order determines whether the table includes the best or worst performers.   

The table can include either the best or worst performers, but not both.

Best or worst performers are required with certain segments

You are required to specify whether a table includes your best or worst performers when you segment a table by ad groups, keywords, or ads. Otherwise the table would include an excessive amount of data.

 

  1. Create a report or open an existing report:

    1. From the top navigation bar in Search Ads 360, click Executive Reports.
    2. Click a report title.
  2. Click Add chart below a page name and select Table.
  3. Select a time range in the chart editor.

    For example, select Last quarter. Don't select the Compare to past checkbox.

    Note that relative time ranges, such as Last 7 days, start from the report's end date, which you can adjust as needed.

  4. Optional. If you want to include totals in the table, select the Show totals checkbox.
  5. If you want the table to display metrics only from specific campaigns, devices, or even keywords of a particular match type, or display certain metrics add a filter to the table.

    If you filter by sitelink or call, you can only segment the best or worst performers by agency, advertiser, account, sitelink or call.
  6. Select a metric and optionally add other metrics. For example, select Impr and add Clicks, Cost, and ROAS.

    The name of the metrics display on the chart.

    Don't select the Show metrics as rows checkbox.

  7. Choose one segment.

    The table will contain one row for each segment. For example, if you segment by agency, the chart contains one row for each type of engine account in the report scope.

    Tables with segmented data include a Total row that sums each column.

  8. If you selected a segment that doesn’t require including only the best or worst performers, select the Sort and limit rows checkbox.

    If you selected a segment that requires that only the best or worst performers are included, the Sort and limit rows checkbox is automatically selected.

  9. Next to Sort by, click the arrows to choose the column (metric) used to segment the table.

    The list includes only the metrics selected in the table. That is, if the table includes only two metrics, the Sort by list includes only two options.

  10. To display only the top performers, next to Order, click Descending.

    To display only the bottom performers, next to Order, click Ascending.

    To display top for the CPC metric, click Ascending. To display the worst performers for the CPC metric, click Descending. Because CPC is a ratio, the best CPC is the lowest.
  11. Next to row limit, click the number of rows that you want the table to include:

    • 10
    • 20
    • 50
    • 100
  12. Add a title to the table.
  13. Click Create
  14. Optionally drag the table to a different location on the page.

You can select an unlimited number of metrics that display numbers such as clicks or impressions. You can't select metrics that display text.

Filters

Yes, depending on the filter you want to apply to the one segment by which your data is ranked. Note that while most filters are compatible with the available segments, the sitelink and call filters can't be used with every segment.

If you sort and limit rows using the following segments, you can't filter the data by sitelink or call:

  • Label
  • Campaign 
  • Ad group
  • Keyword
  • Ad 

If you sort and limit rows using the following segments, you can filter the data by sitelink or call:
