A mixed bar and line chart help you compare metrics and trends by displaying one metric as bars and another metric as a line.
To create a mixed bar and line chart:
-
Create a report or open an existing report:
-
From the top navigation bar in Search Ads 360, click Executive Reports.
-
Click on a report title.
-
-
Click Add chart below a page name and select Mixed bar and line chart.
-
Select a time range in the chart editor.
For example, select Last quarter.Note that relative time ranges, such as Last 7 days, start from the report's end date, which you can adjust as needed.
You can also compare performance to past performance. Current and past performance will be stacked within each bar, and an additional line will appear to display past performance (along with the existing line that displays current performance). Note that you can either compare current and past performance or segment the metrics, but you cannot do both in this type of chart.
-
Specify the time interval of the horizontal axis.
For example, in a chart that shows total clicks in a quarter, you can specify whether the horizontal axis is in a monthly, weekly, or daily interval. One bar will appear for each interval. -
If you want the chart to display metrics only from specific campaigns, devices, or even keywords of a particular match type, add a filter to the chart.
-
Select a metric to display as a bar. Then select a metric to display as a line.
-
Optionally segment each metric (available only if you are not already comparing to past performance).
The bars in the chart will be stacked with a separate color for each segmented data item. For example, if you segment by engine type, each bar displays metrics from each type of engine account in the report scope in a separate color.
One line will display for each segmented data item. For example, if you segment by device, one line displays metrics for mobile devices, while a second and third line display metrics for desktop and tablet devices.
- Optionally choose whether an axis starts at zero to emphasize the scale of change.
-
Add a title to the chart
-
Click Save.
-
Optionally click and drag the report to a different location on the page.
