Verify your identity to use Pix with Google Pay

If you're in Brazil, to add an account in Google Wallet, you must complete a one-time verification of your personal details.

After you verify your identity and have access to pay with Pix with Google Pay, you can:

  • Use Pix to pay sellers, friends, or family with:
    • Tap to pay with Pix
    • Pix key
    • QR code
    • Copy and paste
  • Add an account securely to send money.

Tip: To verify your identity, we may ask for documents or personal information such as your address.

Verify your identity

  1. Open the Google Wallet app .
    • You can open Google Wallet through your financial institution’s app.
    • You may be prompted to sign in to your Google Account.
    • Update to the latest version of your Google Wallet and financial institution apps to avoid issues.
  2. Tap Add to Wallet and then Pix.
  3. Select your account.
  4. Enter your CPF and date of birth.
    • If you've provided this information in the past to Google, this step may be skipped.
    • If the CPF on file doesn't match the CPF on the account you are adding, you won’t be able to add this account. You'll need to create a new Payments profile with the correct CPF by deleting your current Payment profile. Learn how to close an existing payment profile.
  5. Select your employment information:
    • Important: As a licensed entity regulated by the Central Bank, Google Pay takes the safety and security of your information very seriously. To protect you, we need to collect and validate your personal information. This information is stored securely and is only used for fraud and identity verification.
    • Employment status
    • Monthly income range
    • Employment industry
  6. Tap Continue.
    • Tip: Verifications may be processed within seconds or can take up to 48 hours. You'll receive an email and app notification when it's completed. Once your identity is verified, you'll be redirected to your financial institution’s app to sign in. This allows your account to be added to Google Wallet.
  7. Tap Continue to account app, then sign in.
  8. After you add your account and your identity is verified, you’re ready to use Pix with Google Pay.

Tip: You'll verify each Pix payment with biometrics or your PIN.

How to submit documents

We may ask you to submit images of documents as proof of identity, address, and source of income.

  • You have a limited number of attempts to submit proof of identity.
  • Submit a valid, government-issued ID.
  • Acceptable documents will be prompted on screen.
  • Do not upload a picture of your credit or debit card.
  • Make sure any image or document that you upload:
    • Matches your first, last name, and address on your Google Payments profile. If the information on your ID is different, update your profile.
    • For proof of address, isn't older than 90 days.
    • For identification card, isn’t expired.
    • Is clearly readable.
    • Is an image of a document.
    • Shows the full document with all 4 corners.
    • Is in color and not black and white.
    • Doesn’t have blur, glare, or dim lighting.
    • Isn't covered in any way or blocked by your finger.

Fix issues with verification

Verification pending
Verifications may be processed within seconds or can take up to 48 hours. When it's complete, you get an email and app notification.
Problem with tax ID (CPF) verification
If the CPF on file doesn't match the CPF on the account you are adding, you won’t be able to add this account. You'll need to create a new Payments profile with the correct CPF by deleting your current Payment profile. Learn how to close an existing payment profile.

Tip: We don't allow CPFs to be associated with too many accounts. Learn more about CPF.

Verification issue
To use Google Wallet or Google Pay, you must be at least 18 years old. If your age is below the minimum age requirement, your identity can’t be verified.

Tip: If you tried to verify your identity when you were under 18 years old, but now meet the minimum age requirement, contact support.

Verification failed or more information is required
If your verification is unsuccessful, you’ll receive the result of the decision through an email and an in-app or account notification at payments.google.com. We'll let you know what you need to correct, reupload, or if more information is needed. After you provide your updated verification information, we'll try to verify your identity again.
