Use Pix with Google Pay

To make Pix Payments to family, friends, and businesses, you must verify your identity and add a valid payment account in Google Wallet. You can make Pix payments with Google Pay using a Pix key, QR code, or Copy / paste.

Tip:

Tap to pay with Pix

  1. In the store, ask to pay with Pix.
  2. Unlock your phone.
  3. Tap the phone to the NFC reader on the POS terminal.
  4. Check transaction details.
  5. Tap Next.
  6. To complete the payment, verify your info and authenticate.

Scan a QR code

Important: You must allow camera access to use this option.

  1. Open the Google Wallet app .
  2. Tap QR Code and then Turn on camera.
    • If you previously blocked camera access, you can turn it on in your device’s settings.
  3. Center the QR code in the frame. The app scans the code automatically.
    • Depending on the QR code type, you may edit the payment amount.
  4. Tap Next to review the payment options and details and then Confirm and pay.
  5. Verify your payment with biometrics or your PIN.

Pay with Pix key

  1. Open the Google Wallet app .
  2. Tap Pix Key.
  3. Enter a phone number, email, Individual Taxpayer Registration (CPF), National Legal Registry (CNPJ), or random key.
    • If you sent money to someone recently, you can find them under “Recent payees.”
  4. Enter the amount.
    • To describe your payment, you can add a message which recipients can find.
  5. Tap Next to review the payment options and details and then Confirm and pay.
  6. Verify your payment with biometrics or your PIN.

Copy / paste

  1. Open the Google Wallet app .
  2. Tap Copy / paste.
    • If you’ve copied a code, it can be automatically displayed on your screen for confirmation.
  3. Paste your code and review the payment amount.
    • Depending on the Copy / paste type, you may edit the payment amount.
  4. Tap Next to review the payment options and details and then Confirm and pay.
  5. Verify your payment with biometrics or your PIN.

Turn on Night mode

 Tip: To add extra security to your account, you can block payments to new people between 8:00 PM–6:00 AM Brasilia time.

  1. Open the Google Wallet app .
  2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Account and then Settings.
  3. Go to Night Mode for Pix.
  4. Tap Night Mode.

Time to transaction completion

Transactions are transferred instantly, but can remain pending for a few minutes to 12 hours. If the transaction is still pending, you can contact your financial institution or try to cancel in the Google Wallet app.

 Cancel a transaction

Important: You may be able to cancel some pending transactions. To dispute completed transactions, contact your financial institution. When you start a payment, a request is sent to your financial institution to transfer money to the recipient. After the payment is complete, the payment can’t be reversed. Before you send money, you should always verify the personal information of the recipient.

To cancel a pending transaction using the Google Wallet app or Google Wallet website:

  1. View the transaction details page.
  2. Select Cancel transaction and then Yes.

Find transaction history

You can view transaction details such as the sender or recipient name, Pix key, CPF, account ID, and transaction ID.

Tip: You can only find transactions you initiated in Google Pay. For more info on your daily Pix transactions, contact your financial institution.

Google Wallet app

  1. Open the Google Wallet app .
  2. Tap Payment methods & activity and then Accounts.
  3. Tap on an account.
    • By default, you find a list of your most recent transactions.
    • To find older transactions, tap View more activity.

Google Wallet Website

  1. Go to Google Wallet website.
  2. On the left, click Transactions.

If you encountered fraud or scam while using Pix with Google Pay, follow these steps:

Important: Immediately contact your financial institution for further assistance through their Customer Services channels.

Additionally, you can report scams and fraud to the Central Bank of Brazil, which is responsible for the supervision of financial institutions.
