Pix payment limits

The Central Bank of Brazil and your financial institution have limits for how much money you can transfer.

  • The Central Bank of Brazil has a night time transaction limit of R$1.000 from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  • Your financial institution may have additional limits for the amount of money you can transfer in a certain amount of time. To learn more about your financial institution’s limits, you can contact them directly.
Can’t send money

Reasons you can’t send money include:

  • You may be using an invalid Pix key or account.
  • The Pix key may not be found or isn’t registered to anyone.
  • Your financial institution may be experiencing an issue or outage.
  • The account you’re sending money to may not exist.
  • You may not have sufficient funds in your linked account.
  • There may be network or other error processing the payment.
  • Your financial institution may have declined the transaction.
  • You may have met the maximum transaction limit for Pix or your financial institution.
  • The recipient was already paid.

Check for issues with your account:

  • Make sure that you send money with an eligible account.
    • You can’t use credit or debit cards to send money.
  • Make sure that you have enough balance with the form of payment you want to send money from.
  • Check to see if you have reached the daily transaction limit with your financial institution.
Account is missing, requires a fix, or didn’t link

If Google Wallet can’t find your linked financial institution account, be sure you follow the instructions to link it. Otherwise:

  • If you added your account in Google Wallet and it’s missing or didn’t link properly, check your Payment methods and then Accounts.
  • If the account link is broken, fix it in Payment methods and then Accounts.
  • If the CPF on file does not match the CPF on the account you are adding, you won’t be able to add this account. You'll need to create a new Payments profile with the correct CPF by deleting your current Payment profile. Learn how to close an existing payment profile.
  • If you haven’t yet, add an account in Google Wallet to send Pix payments.
Sent money to the wrong person or paid the wrong amount

When you start a payment, we send a request to your financial institution to transfer money to the recipient. After the payment is complete, we can't reverse it.

  • If you know the person who you accidentally sent money to, ask them to send the money back.
  • If you don’t know the person you sent money to, reach out to your financial institution.
Can’t find transaction details

On Google Wallet app:

  1. Open the Google Wallet app .
  2. Tap Payment methods & activity and then Accounts.
  3. Tap an account.
    • By default, you only find a list of your most recent transactions.
    • To find older transactions, tap View more activity.

On Google Wallet website:

  1. Go to the Google Wallet website.

Transaction shows as pending
