Important: The Fitbit Ace LTE watch is currently only available in the U.S. This article is for parents who are managing a Fitbit Ace LTE watch for their child. About Google Wallet on the Fitbit Ace LTE
In the U.S., your child can use Google Wallet on their Fitbit Ace LTE to make contactless payments where Google Pay is accepted.
For your child to use Google Wallet on their Fitbit Ace LTE, the following conditions must be met:
- Child has a Fitbit Ace LTE and Ace Pass data plan. Learn how to manage your Ace Pass data plan.
- Child has a debit card through one of our supported providers:
- Greenlight
- GoHenry
- Parent has a mobile device.
- Parent mobile device and child Fitbit Ace LTE has set up a screen lock.
- Child has a supervised account. Learn more about supervision on Google Accounts.
Your child can use Google Wallet on their Fitbit Ace LTE for the following:
- Pay in stores using tap to pay.
- See details of their recent transactions.
- See if their card has been locked or removed.
As a parent, you can manage the following for your child:
- Add your child’s card to the Fitbit Ace LTE.
- Lock your child’s ability to make payments with their Fitbit Ace LTE.
- Remove your child’s card from the Fitbit Ace LTE.
- View your child’s recent transactions.
- Get notified when your child uses the card.
Tip: Google Wallet app on Fitbit Ace LTE does not support setting up spending limits for your child’s account. For this, contact the debit card provider.

Add your child’s card to Fitbit Ace LTE
Important: Google Wallet on Fitbit Ace LTE currently only supports debit cards from our supported partners: GoHenry and Greenlight.
- Open up the Fitbit Ace app.
- Tap Google Wallet on your child’s card.
- Sign up for your child’s debit card. This is a separate process handled by our supported providers.
- If your child does not have a debit card, tap Get Greenlight or Get GoHenry.
- If your child already has a debit card from a supported provider, tap Connect your existing card.
- Follow the on screen instructions for the supported provider.
- Open the debit card provider’s app
- Tap Add to GPay on the provider’s app to connect your child’s debit card to Google Wallet.
- Tap Continue on Google Wallet.
- To pair your child’s Fitbit Ace LTE with your phone, tap Continue.
- Using Google Wallet, scan the QR code on your child’s watch.
- Set a screen lock for your phone and your child’s Fitbit Ace LTE and tap Continue.
Important: Screen lock is a requirement for you to manage your child’s payments and for your child to use their watch to make payments. Learn more about screen lock on Fitbit Ace LTE. - Confirm payment information and tap Agree.
- Read terms and tap Accept.
- Tap Got it.
When children whose accounts are managed with Family Link are about to turn 13, the child and their family manager will get an email to ask if the child’s account should continue to be a managed account. Learn more about how Google Accounts work when children turn 13.
After a child turns 13, there are 2 options to choose from:
- The child now manages their own Google Account.
- The child’s account continues to be managed with parental supervision.
If the child chooses to manage their own account, the following will occur:
- The payment method that was set up on the watch will be automatically removed and you will receive a notification on the Fitbit Ace app.
- The child’s pre-13 year old Wallet user data and transaction history will also be removed from their watch.
- The child can enable tap-and-pay once again on the Watch by adding a card on their own. Learn how to add a card to your smartwatch.
How your child pays with Fitbit Ace LTE
Your child can pay with Google Wallet on their Fitbit Ace LTE wherever they find the contactless or Google Pay symbols. Find them on the payment terminal screen or on the cash register at checkout. Your child can tap to pay without an internet connection.

- On Fitbit Ace LTE, double press the Home button.
- The top button on the side of the watch is the Home button.
- Hold the watch near the payments reader.
- Wait for the watch to vibrate or chime to confirm payment.
- On Fitbit Ace LTE, tap the Home button.

- Tap the Wallet icon.
- Hold Fitbit Ace LTE near the payments reader.
- Wait for the watch to vibrate or chime to confirm payment.
View your child’s recent transactions from Fitbit Ace LTE
Important: You can only see recent transactions that were made by your child with their Fitbit Ace LTE. Some transactions may not be shown, but you can check the card issuer for a full list of your child’s transactions.
- Open up the Fitbit Ace app.
- Tap Google Wallet on your child’s card.
- Tap View more recent activity.
In order for Google to provide Google Wallet on Fitbit Ace LTE, we will collect and store information about your child, including payment method and transaction data, as described in the Google Payments Privacy Notice. Google does not use this information to personalize the Google Pay experience for either you or your child.
Manage notifications when your child makes a transaction
Important: If you don't have an internet connection, notifications won't be received until the next time your device is connected to the internet (LTE or Wi-Fi).
You will receive a push-notification from your Fitbit Ace app when your child:
- Makes a purchase with their Fitbit Ace LTE
- Removes screen lock on their Fitbit Ace LTE causing the payment card to be deleted
Lock & unlock payments on the Fitbit Ace LTE
When you lock payments on your child’s Fitbit Ace LTE, you immediately prevent them from being able to use the watch to make purchases.
Locking payments does not disable the card from the issuer and does not prevent transactions separate from the watch, such as making a purchase with the physical card or using the card on a third-party website.

To lock payments on the Fitbit Ace LTE
- Open up the Fitbit Ace app.
- Tap Google Wallet on your child’s card.
- Tap Lock card.
- To confirm, tap Lock card.
To unlock payments on the Fitbit Ace LTE
- Open up the Fitbit Ace app.
- Tap Google Wallet on your child’s card.
- Tap Unlock card.
- To confirm, tap Unlock card.
Remove your child’s card from Fitbit Ace LTE
- Open up the Fitbit Ace app.
- Tap Google Wallet on your child’s card.
- Tap Remove card from Fitbit Ace LTE.
- Tap Remove card.
- Tap Got it.
Tip: Your child will receive a notification on their Fitbit Ace LTE when a card is locked, unlocked or removed.
Screen lock on Fitbit Ace LTE
Screen lock is a requirement for you to manage your child’s payments and for your child to use their watch to make payments.
If your child removes screen lock on the watch, their card is automatically removed from the watch and will need to be added again.
If a parent removes the screen lock from the parent’s phone, note the following:
- This does not impact the child's ability to make payments.
- You won’t be able to manage your child’s payment card until you reapply the screen lock.
- You will still receive notifications about your child’s transactions.

Transfer Wallet management to a different parent
Google Wallet on your child’s Fitbit Ace LTE can only be managed by one parent at a time. To transfer management to a different parent:
- Parent A must first remove your child’s card from Fitbit Ace LTE.
- Parent B must start over and add your child’s card to Fitbit Ace LTE.
Once Parent B successfully adds the child’s card, they will become manager of the card on child’s device.
Fix issues with your child’s Fitbit Ace LTE
I can’t connect my child’s card to Google WalletIf you can’t connect one of our provider’s cards to Google Wallet, check the following:
- Your child’s watch is awake and had a strong internet connection (LTE/Wi-Fi).
- Your device has a strong internet connection (LTE/Wi-Fi).
- Your card issuer is either GoHenry or Greenlight for your child's watch.
- The Google Wallet app isn't blocked or restricted in Family Link settings. If blocked, the Google Wallet will not open. Learn how to block or unblock an app in Family Link.
If the app is not opening on your child’s watch, check the following:
