Google Workspace Migrate uses an encryption key to protect project data and settings. You need to set a password to access the encryption key in case of a failure.
Important: Store your password and encryption key in a secure location. You might need them to recover migration data. For details, go to Replace your platform.
- Open Chrome Browser and using the http(s)://localhost:<port> format, enter the URL of the Google Workspace Migrate platform.
- Using the same admin account that you used to authorize your service account’s client ID, sign in to the platform.
- Click Get started.
- Click Password, enter a new password, and click Configure key.
Troubleshoot
If you get a "The account lacks sufficient privileges to access the platform" message, try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure you completed the installation and setup tasks correctly. In particular, verify that you correctly set up the admin roles. For details, go to Set up admin roles.
- Verify the email address that you entered when installing the platform:
- On the taskbar, right-click Google Workspace Migrate and select Edit Google Settings.
- For Admin User Email, verify it’s a valid user's email address (not a service account email address). Make sure the user is a super administrator for the Google Workspace account that you're using to sign in.
- If the steps above don't resolve the issue, review the service host logs for the platform:
- For steps to open the service host logs, go to Check the service host logs.
- Look for errors that are related to authentication, network, or API access and troubleshoot the errors. You can ignore errors that mention Telemetry.
- If there’s a "The user is from a different organization" message, repeat step 2 above or try signing in with the same admin account that you used to authorize your service account’s client ID.
- Reboot the server that the platform is running on and try to access the platform again.
