Not enough available licenses 

If you get the error “Enrollment Error You do not have enough available licenses to enroll this Google Meet hardware device,” you need to free up or buy a Meet hardware license by taking one or more of the following actions:

  • If you have another device that doesn’t need a license anymore, remove the license so it can be assigned to the device you want to use. Learn more about how to Manage Meet hardware licenses.
  • If you haven’t already, buy a Meet hardware license.
  • If you bought Meet hardware licenses but you don’t see them in your Admin console, contact the reseller who you bought them from. If you bought licenses through Google, contact Google Support.

Account not allowed to enroll devices

Ask your Google Workspace administrator to give your account the required privilege to enroll Google Meet hardware, following steps 4 and 5 in Limit who can enroll Meet hardware devices.

Device has been marked for enterprise management

If you get the error "This device has been marked for enterprise management by example.com," it means that an administrator has set the device to re-enroll automatically in that domain. 

To fix this, choose an option:

  • If the domain listed is for your organization, enter your account details on the error screen to re-enroll the device.
  • If the device or your account does not belong to the domain shown, ask your administrator to deprovision it. You can then re-enroll the device manually. For details, go to Re-enroll a device.

Device displays an error screen after being enrolled

The device has an older version of ChromeOS and needs to be updated. The process can take a few hours. Reboot the device after the device is updated and it should be fixed.

Time zone reverts to default after initial setup

Some Google Meet hardware doesn't retain the user-defined time zone setting after the initial setup and returns to the default time zone.

To resolve this issue, take the following steps to change the time zone:

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Go to Menu and then Devicesand thenGoogle Meet hardwareand thenSettings.
  3. Locate the Time Zone setting and select the correct time zone.
  4. Click Save.

Issues using Meet hardware and peripherals 

Can’t use Meet hardware in a Logitech Swytch-enabled room

Before contacting Google Workspace support:

  • Remove Swytch and restart the room system. If the problem persists, continue through the standard Google Workspace support process.
  • Set Meet hardware peripherals as default devices in the Admin Console. Doing so ensures that using Meet activates the default peripherals. Follow the steps at Set a default peripheral.
  • To help clearly identify Swytch-enabled rooms for booking and support purposes, add Meet hardware room kits connected to a Swytch device as a resource, using the Admin console. For details, go to Set up buildings, features & Calendar resources
  • Contact Logitech for support related to Swytch.

Keyboard language on remote control is incorrect

Depending on your location and the keyboard language that you used when you set up the Meet hardware kit, the included remote control’s language might not match that of the device. To resolve the issue after setup, use this one-time workaround:

  1. Connect a USB keyboard to your device.
  2. Press any key to start the meeting dialogue.
  3. Press Ctrl+Shift+Space to change the keyboard language to U.S.
    A pop-up opens so that you can verify the language.
  4. Test the remote.
    The keys should now be correct.

Remote control unpaired from Chromebox

To re-pair a remote control with the Chromebox:

  1. Plug the USB Ethernet adapter into any USB port on the Chromebox.
  2. Hold the remote control close to the USB Ethernet adapter (ideally within 6–8 inches).
  3. Press and hold the Menu and Mute buttons simultaneously on the remote control for 4–5 seconds.

 Issues with assigning calendars

Unrecognized users added to room calendar after assignment

When you assign a room calendar to Meet hardware, Google adds one or more service accounts to the calendar. These service accounts only show up in the calendar’s settings. You can recognize these accounts because they’ll end in gserviceaccount.com.
