With Performance Max for Marketplaces, you can create Performance Max campaigns that advertise the products that you sell on a marketplace. Before you can create a Performance Max for Marketplace campaign, you need to link your Google Ads account to the marketplace.

When you approve a link between your Google Ads account and a marketplace, you’ll allow your product data to flow between the marketplace and your Google Ads account. Learn more about How data sharing works with Performance Max for marketplaces.
Before you begin
- Someone with admin access to the Google Ads account will need to approve the link request sent from the marketplace in Google Ads.
- Anyone with admin access to the Google Ads account can remove the link with the marketplace from Google Ads at any time.
- If you remove the account link, your Performance Max for Marketplaces campaigns will automatically be paused and stop serving.
- Google Ads manager accounts can’t be linked to a marketplace.
Linking your Google Ads account to a marketplace
Before you link your Google Ads account, contact the marketplace so that they can initiate account linking requests to your Google Ads account. You’ll need to provide them your Google Ads account ID or email address. When you receive the link requests in your Google Ads account, accept them and proceed with the rest of the setup.
Step 1: Link your Google Ads account with the marketplace's Merchant Center account
- In your Google Ads account, click the Admin icon .
- Click Linked accounts.
- Under "From Google", find "Google Merchant Center", then select Manage and link.
- Look for the account linking request, and click View Review.
- Click Approve.
Step 2: Link your Google Ads account with the marketplace's Google Ads account
- In your Google Ads account, click the Admin icon .
- Click Linked accounts.
- Under "From Google", find "Advertising Partners", then select Manage and link.
- Look for the account linking request, and click View Review.
- Click Approve.
Step 3: Link your Google Ads account with the marketplace's Manager (MCC) account
- In your Google Ads account, click the Admin icon .
- Click Access and security.
- Select the Managers tab. Under "Link request", you'll find a list of manager accounts that have requested to link to link to your account.
- In the "Actions" column, you can Accept or Decline an invitation by pressing the corresponding word. To complete each action, follow the instructions on the page.
You must approve both links to properly create or track campaigns on the marketplace. If you see only one request, you should contact the marketplace so they initiate the second one.
- In your Google Ads account, click the Goals icon .
- Click the Conversions drop down in the section menu.
- Click Summary.
- In the column Conversion source, look for conversions marked as “Website (Partner)”.
Unlinking or managing links between accounts
After you’ve linked your Google Ads account to the marketplace you can view the status of the link or unlink your accounts.
- In your Google Ads account, click the Admin icon .
- Click Linked accounts.
- Find your marketplace in the list of your linked accounts.
- Click Manage & link.
- Unlink accounts or review status of the existing links.
After unlinking a marketplace account, your Performance Max for Marketplaces campaigns will be automatically paused and the conversion actions created by that marketplace will be removed from your account. Historical reporting on these campaigns and conversion actions will remain available.
