Fix problems downloading multiple apps

Troubleshoot problems downloading apps

Clear the cache & data of the Google Play Store

Important:

  • Clearing cache from Google Play Store is the most common solution to issues when you download apps from Google Play Store.
  • When you clear the cache and data, it may delete some settings on the Google Play Store app like parental controls and password protection. It will ask you to reagree to the Terms of Service the next time you open the Google Play Store.
  1. Find the Google Play Store app on your device's home or app screen.
  2. Touch and hold the Google Play Store app.
  3. Tap App Info .
  4. Tap Storage & cache and then Clear Cache.
  5. Tap Clear storage and then Delete.
Clear cache & data of Download Manager

Important:

  • If you have issues when you download apps from Google Play, the most common solutions are to clear cache from Google Play Store and Download Manager.
  • When you clear the cache and data, some settings may be deleted on the Google Play Store app like parental controls and password protection. Next time you open the Google Play Store, you’ll be asked to re-agree to the Terms of Service.
  1. Go to Settings and then Apps and then All Apps.
  2. Scroll to "Download Manager."

Clear cache & data from Google Play Services
Important: It’s not recommended to clear Google Play services unless you’ve tried all other troubleshooting options. When you clear Google Play services data or storage, it may delete some information saved to your device. Information may include passwords, transit cards, COVID cards, and virtual payment cards saved to Google Pay. You may also need to reauthenticate your payment methods on Google Pay and sign back into your Google Account on all devices.
  1. Open your device’s Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. If you can't find "Google Play Services," tap See all apps.
  4. Tap Google Play Services.
  5. Tap Storage & cache and then Clear cache.
  6. Tap Clear storage and then Clear all data and then Delete.
Uninstall & reinstall Google Play Store updates

To uninstall Google Play Store app updates:

  1. On your device's home or app screen, find the Google Play Store app.
  2. Touch and hold the Google Play Store app Google Play.
  3. Tap App info.
  4. At the top right, tap More and then Uninstall updates.
  5. Review the info and tap OK.

To reinstall Google Play Store app updates:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app Google Play.
  2. At the top right, tap the Profile picture.
  3. Tap Settings and then About.
  4. Under “Play Store version,” tap Update Play Store.
