Install your Google tag with a website builder or CMS

You can use a website builder or content management system (CMS) to finish setting up your Google tag automatically, or you can install your tag manually. To ensure you get accurate measurement, make sure your tag is installed on every page of your site.

Before you begin

Some website builders and CMS platforms don't provide integrated support for the Google tag. These platforms may not accept every tag ID format.

If you can’t find your platform in the list below, you can still use the Google tag. Paste your Google tag snippet manually into your website builder's/CMS's custom HTML field. Learn more about how to Set up your Google tag.

Install your Google tag with a CMS

If you haven’t already, you need to set up your Google tag before completing your set up.

  1. Access your Google tag screen.
  2. Go to the “Configuration” tab.
  3. In the "Your Google tag" section, click Installation instructions.
  4. Click Select your platform.
  5. Choose a content management system (CMS), or website builder, from the list shown, and you’ll get step by step instructions on how to set up the Google tag for that platform. If you don't find your website builder or content management system listed, review the list below and follow the instructions found in those links. If your CMS is not listed below, you can still paste your Google tag snippet manually into your website builder's/CMS's custom HTML field. Learn more about how to Set up your Google tag.
  6. Click the name of your platform in the bulleted list below to review platform-specific instructions about how to install your Google tag.
When you are done you can choose to test your website with Tag Assistant.

If you're setting up your Google tag from within your Google Analytics account, there are some additional platforms that accept a Google tag that begins with "ignored". Review platforms that accept this tag ID format
