Templates implementation overview
There are three templates implementation stages:
- Create and configure templates.
- Preview sample results.
- Amend templates in the paused state.
Template generation can take place the next time the new Search Ads 360 evaluates templates, or it can be scheduled for a particular date or after a defined period has passed.
The diagram below presents an example templates use case:
To navigate to Templates, do the following:
- Sign in to your Search Ads 360 experience.
- Click the tools and settings icon on the navigation menu.
- Under "Shared Library", click Templates.
- On the page menu, click Templates or Feeds to switch between the respective pages.
See the Related links to learn more about the processes for creating and configuring templates. The creation flow is similar across all template types.
Template types
The following template types are available in the new Search Ads 360:
- Campaign
- Ad group
- Responsive search ad (RSA)
- Keyword
- Negative keyword
- Sitelink
- Plan (optional)
Template currency
In the new Search Ads 360, the sub-manager's currency settings are applied in templates.
Template flow
Apart from Plan templates, which can be used optionally for organizing related templates, templates follow a standard creation flow:
- Stage 1: Template settings
- Parent and feed settings (for example, the parent entity and the feed)
- Automation settings (for example, multipliers, feed filters, and pause conditions)
- There's an option to create the template in a paused state. This is recommended, as it allows you to verify template configuration against your requirements before the template is activated.
- Stage 2: Template type settings
- These are specific to the template type and include template name, related URL, and start and end dates.
- Stage 3: Confirmation
- At the final stage, a preview sample of the first 100 instances (based on the settings made in stages 1 and 2) is displayed. If you want to make changes, you can go back to the settings stages by clicking the relevant stage in the menu above the preview.
- Click Create template to complete the template-creation process.
